Glamping house rules template
Glamping sites usually have several tents or pods close together, a shared washroom building and a campfire area. Rules need to cover sound between tents, food and wildlife, and walking safely around the site at night.
This template includes the standard Airbnb rules plus glamping requests with short reasons. If you run several units, the same rules can go in every tent with only the unit details changed.
The template
Replace anything in [brackets] with your own details.
Check-in and checkout
- Check-in is from [Check-in time]. Checkout is by [Checkout time].
- Your tent is [Tent name or number]. Park in [Parking area] and follow the lit path.
Guests and noise
- Each tent sleeps up to [Max guests] guests.
- Other guests are only a few metres away, and canvas carries sound. Quiet hours are [Quiet hours start] to [Quiet hours end].
- No parties or events, please, and no visitors from outside the site.
Pets, smoking and photos
- Pets: [Pet rule, e.g. dogs welcome in tents 3 and 4, on a leash around the site].
- No smoking or vaping in tents or near them. Please use [Smoking spot].
- Commercial photography or filming needs our permission.
Glamping requests
- No food, drinks or toiletries left outside or in the tent overnight. Please use [Food locker location]. Animals can smell them.
- No candles, stoves or heaters other than the ones provided.
- Campfires only in your fire pit, kept small and never left burning. Firewood is [Firewood info].
- The shared washroom building is [Washroom location]. Please keep it tidy for the next guest.
- Use the path lights or a flashlight at night, as roots and steps are hard to see.
- Please keep the tent zipped shut whenever you're not going in or out.
Locking up
- Lock or zip your tent when you leave it, and keep valuables in [Valuables spot].
Before you leave
- Put used dishes in the bin or tub by the door.
- Gather used towels in the basket.
- Sort trash and recycling into the bins provided.
- Turn off the lights and heater, zip up the tent and return the key [Key return spot].

Tips
- Number or name each tent and put that name on the rules, so guests know which fire pit and parking spot is theirs.
- Provide a food locker or a sealed box per tent; telling guests to keep food safe means little without one.
- Give guests a flashlight in each tent and light the main paths.
- Mention phone signal and charging spots, since many glamping sites have neither in the tents.

Questions
How do I manage noise between glamping tents?
Set quiet hours with the reason that canvas carries sound, and space tents as far apart as you can. Mention it in the listing so groups looking to party book elsewhere.
Can glamping guests have their own campfire?
If your site allows fires, say where they may be lit, how big, and that they must be fully out before bed. Always defer to any local fire ban.
What should glamping rules say about shared washrooms?
Give the location, any hours, and a friendly request to leave it ready for the next guest. That's a reasonable ask for a shared facility used during the stay.
