Dishwasher instructions for guests (template)

You're welcome to use it

• The dishwasher is there for your use during your stay, if you'd like it.

Starting it

• Detergent: [Detergent location and type, e.g. tablets under the sink]. One tablet goes in the little door at [Detergent door location].
• Please use only dishwasher detergent. Regular dish soap makes lots of suds and can flood the floor.
• Close the door until it clicks, choose [Normal / Auto] and press [Start button]. [Some models: press Start then close the door within a few seconds].
• A cycle takes about [Time].

Loading

• Plates and big items on the bottom, cups and glasses on the top, cutlery in the basket handles down.
• Scrape food into [Compost or trash] first. [Septic note: please don't rinse food scraps down the sink].

Please hand wash

• Sharp knives, wooden boards and spoons, cast iron, non-stick pans, crystal and [Anything else, e.g. the good wine glasses].
• A wash basin, brush and dish soap are at [Location] if you'd like them.

Good to know

• It's quiet; a light on the [Front or floor] shows it's running.
• When the cycle ends, the dishes may still be a little damp. Opening the door helps them dry.
• A little water left in the bottom is normal.

At checkout

• Used dishes can go in the sink or the dishwasher, whichever is easier. You don't need to run it.

If something goes wrong

• It won't start: check the door is fully closed and the child lock is off [Child lock steps].
• Suds or water on the floor: stop the cycle, wipe up the water with towels from [Location] and text [Host name] at [Host phone].
• A code on the display: please text us a photo.
