House rules in Japanese: free translated template
A welcome note in Japanese is a real kindness for guests who are less confident in English, and polite wording matters. This template uses the courteous desu/masu style with respectful phrases, the way a Japanese inn or host would write to guests.
It includes a welcome line, check-in and checkout times, wifi, the standard house rules and a short checkout list. Placeholders are in Japanese; you can fill them with Japanese text, or simply with times and numbers.

Tips
- The template uses polite keigo (desu/masu with honorific requests like ください and お願いいたします), which is the right level for a host writing to guests.
- Have a native speaker check anything legal, such as deposits, damage or cancellation wording, before you add it to this template.
- Write times in the 24-hour clock (15:00) to avoid any mix-up between morning and afternoon.
- Be specific about which bin is for what; guests used to sorting trash will want to know exactly where things go.
- Use full-width Japanese punctuation (、。:) when you add sentences, so the text looks clean and natural.

Questions
How polite should a Japanese welcome note be?
Polite but warm: the desu/masu form with a few honorific requests, as in this template. Very casual Japanese can come across as rude to guests you don't know.
Can I fill in the placeholders in English?
Times, numbers, the wifi name and password are fine in English. For directions or descriptions, Japanese is clearer, so ask a fluent speaker if you can.
How do I say no smoking indoors in Japanese?
The template uses 室内での喫煙(電子たばこを含む)は禁止です, which means smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not allowed indoors. It's clear without being harsh.
