House rules in German: free translated template
Guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will recognize the word Hausordnung, and they tend to read it closely, so clear wording matters. This template is written in natural, polite German with the formal Sie, the way a host would address guests they haven't met.
It has a welcome line, check-in and checkout times, wifi details, quiet hours (Ruhezeiten) and the other standard rules, plus a short checkout list that sticks to fair asks. Fill in the bracketed parts with your own details.

Tips
- The template uses Sie, the formal you; if your brand is very casual you could use du, but keep it the same throughout.
- Have a native speaker check anything legal, such as deposits, damage or cancellation wording, before you add it to this template.
- German speakers use the 24-hour clock, so write 15 Uhr or 15:00 rather than 3 p.m.
- Say WLAN, not wifi; it's the everyday German word for a wireless network.
- Use bzw. (or) and z. B. (for example) as written; they're the normal short forms in German.

Questions
What does Hausordnung mean?
Hausordnung is the German word for house rules, the list of rules for a home, building or rental. It's the heading German-speaking guests will look for.
Should I use Sie or du with German-speaking guests?
Sie is the safe, polite choice with guests you don't know. Some casual or younger brands use du, but switching between the two looks careless.
What are Ruhezeiten?
Ruhezeiten are quiet hours, usually at night and sometimes over lunch, when guests should keep noise down. Put your own times in the template so there's no guessing.
