Condo building check-in instructions template

Condo buildings add a layer of rules on top of a normal check-in: a concierge or security desk, fobs that only open certain doors, visitor parking with time limits, and amenities that may be for residents only.

This template walks guests through the parking garage or front door, the concierge, the elevator and the unit, and tells them up front what they can and can't use. Check your building's rules before you fill it in, so the instructions match what the front desk will say.

Questions

Can I run a short-term rental in a condo?

It depends on your condo's bylaws and your local rules. Check both before you list, because many buildings restrict rentals of under a set number of days.

Can my guests use the condo gym and pool?

Only if the building allows it. Some condos limit amenities to residents, so check the rules and tell guests clearly before they arrive.

How do guests get a fob for a condo?

Hosts usually leave it with the concierge in a named envelope or in a lockbox near the building. Make sure guests know which doors it opens.
