A-frame welcome book template

A-frames photograph beautifully, but the shape brings its own questions: steep stairs to the loft, low sloped ceilings, heat that rises to the top, and a wall of windows with no easy curtains. A clear guide stops sore heads and too-hot lofts.

This template walks through each section with sample text for an A-frame, including fan settings for the loft, privacy for the big windows and local picks for the views guests came for.

How things work

  • Loft stairs: they're steep, so please use the handrail and go down facing the steps, especially at night. A night light is at the top.
  • Sloped ceilings: mind your head near the edges of the loft and the bathroom.
  • Heat: warm air rises, so the loft gets toasty. The ceiling fan switch is [Fan switch location]; set it to [Fan direction note] to push warm air down.
  • Windows: the big windows face [Direction]. Blinds are [Blind note, e.g. on the lower windows only]; the upper glass has no covering, so expect early sunrise.
  • Stove or fireplace: [Heating appliance instructions].

Questions

What should an A-frame welcome book include?

The usual sections plus the A-frame quirks: steep loft stairs, sloped ceilings, how to manage heat in the loft, window light and privacy, and how the stove or fireplace works.

How do I keep the A-frame loft cool enough?

Explain the ceiling fan and any window you can open, and set the heat lower than guests might expect, since warm air collects at the top.

Are A-frame loft stairs safe for kids?

They can be steep, so describe them in the listing, add a handrail and a gate if possible, and remind parents to supervise children on them.
