Emergency info for guests in Iceland (rental template)
In Iceland, 112 covers everything: police, fire, ambulance, the coast guard and search and rescue. Guests also need to know about road closures and fast-changing weather, which cause more trouble than anything inside the house. Hot water comes from geothermal sources and can be very hot at the tap.
We checked these numbers in November 2026, but services change, so please confirm them locally before you print or share the page.

Roads, weather and hot water
- Check road conditions at umferdin.is and the forecast at vedur.is before every drive. Roads can close quickly.

Tips
- Give GPS coordinates and the farm name; many rural places have no street address at all.
- Delete the gas step if your place has no gas, which is common in Iceland.
- Remind guests not to stop on the road to watch the northern lights; pull off fully or use a lay-by.
- If you have a hot tub, add its safe temperature and a reminder not to use it after drinking.
