Emergency info for guests in Poland (rental template)
Poland uses 112 for every emergency, and the older numbers still work: 997 for police, 998 for fire and 999 for ambulance. There are short numbers for water rescue, mountain rescue and gas leaks too, handy for lake and Tatra rentals.
We checked these numbers in November 2026, but services change, so please confirm them locally before you print or share the page.

If something happens
- Fire: get everyone out, close doors behind you and call 112 from outside. Please don't go back in for belongings.
- Gas smell: don't switch lights or appliances on or off and don't light a flame. Open doors and windows if it's safe, turn off the gas at [Gas shut-off location] if you can, leave, then call 992 from outside.
- Carbon monoxide alarm: get everyone into fresh air straight away and call 112. Don't go back in until you're told it's safe.
- Water leak: turn off the water at [Water shut-off location]. If water is near sockets or appliances, stay clear of them and call us.
- Power out: check whether neighbours are dark too, then check the breaker panel at [Breaker panel location]. Flashlight: [Flashlight location]. Please avoid candles. You can report it on 991.
- Lost keys or locked out: call [Host phone], or [Backup contact name and phone]. Please don't climb in through a window.
Gas water heaters
- If the bathroom has a gas water heater, please keep the air vent open and don't block it. Turn it off and get fresh air if you feel dizzy or get a headache.
- In the mountains, check the weather before hiking and call 985 if someone is hurt or lost.
Copied. Paste it into your welcome book or message.
Tips
- If your place has a gas water heater, fit a CO alarm in that room and say so on the page.
- Add the flat number and the intercom code, since many Polish buildings have a locked gate and a locked stairwell.
- For lake houses, put 984 in the welcome book and on the dock.
- Name the nearest SOR (hospital emergency department) and the night and holiday clinic.
